The Story

Bear Grylls OBE trained from a young age in martial arts before spending three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces, serving with 21 SAS Regiment. It was here he perfected many of the survival skills his fans around the world enjoy today.

Despite breaking his back in three places during a freefall parachuting accident in Africa, Bear recovered and went on to become one of the youngest climbers ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

He then starred in seven seasons of Discovery Channel's Emmy nominated Man vs. Wild, reaching an estimated 2 billion viewers. Since then he has hosted more extreme adventure TV shows across more global networks than anyone else in the world, including nine seasons of the global hit Running Wild with Bear Grylls, featuring President Obama, Julia Roberts, Roger Federer and Kate Winslet among many others.

Bear won two Emmys for Netflix's You Vs Wild and two BAFTAs for Channel 4's The Island. His autobiography Mud Sweat and Tears spent 15 weeks at number one, and he has written over 100 books selling in excess of 20 million copies worldwide. He is an Honorary Colonel to the Royal Marines Commandos and was the youngest ever UK Chief Scout, representing a global family of 55 million Scouts.

He lives between the UK and Switzerland with his wife Shara and their three sons Jesse, Marmaduke and Huckleberry, spending part of the year on a small, secluded, off grid island in Wales. Bear's life motto is simple: courage, kindness and never give up.

NEVER GIVE UP

Courage isn't the absence of fear. It's taking one more step when everything tells you to stop. That's the Bear Grylls way, and it can be yours too.
