| Leg
1 |
|
Halifax,
Nova Scotia to Mary's Harbour, Labrador
|
Battle
Harbour to Nanortalik, Greenland. |
| Leaving
Halifax, Canada, the team will set out into seas made famous by
the story of 'the perfect storm', through the eastern canadian islands
and the ice funnel of the straits of belle to the northern most
port of Mary's Harbour. |
Leaving
Mary's Harbour the team set off into the infamous Labrador Sea.
This is feared as one of the most treacherous stretches of water
in the world, made infamous by its reputation for thick sea fog,
giant icebergs and unpredictable weather patterns. |

Leg
4 |
| Nanortalik,
Greenland to Reykjavik, Iceland. |
Reykjavik,
Iceland to Cape Wrath, N. Scotland. |
| At
Nanortalik, and
in contact with the Danish Navy by now, the team will refuel. They
will then navigate a route through the ice, around Southern Greenland
and across the Arctic Sea to Iceland. |
After
the last refuel in Iceland, there remains the 800-mile leg down
to the North coast of Scotland. This is one of the most remote and
storm-ridden areas on the route which is only frequented by a few
Russian fishing vessels. |

| "From
the beginning I believed that it is staying on course that
counts. I have learnt that it is really very simple: 'them that
stick it
out, are them that win!' " Harrison
