12 noon on 29th april 2003 the team proudly christened the arnold
& son explorer at Gunwharf quays, portsmouth. Infront of a
great throng of press, sponsors and well wishers, Capt William
Pennefather (RN) and Bear Grylls addressed the crowd and cracked
a magnum bottle of Mumm champagne over her foredeck. TV crews
and journalists were given a quick spin in the boat, sponsor photos
were taken and everyone enjoyed the expedition cocktails on the
quayside.
